# Mirror WorkOS data into Postgres

Backfill, tail the Events API, and reconcile drift on a cron, with a WorkOS webhook nudge. Join users, organizations, and memberships in SQL.

- Built by: [WorkOS](https://workos.com/)
- Categories: Sync

## Install

```bash
neon functions new workos-sync
```

With the Neon CLI 8.11.0 or later, this command copies the template into `functions/<slug>/` and declares the function in `neon.ts`.

## What it does

This template has a single handler and no named operations, so it's a starting point for your own code. To try it, run it locally with [`neon dev`](https://neon.com/docs/cli/dev.md) first, and deploy it to a branch with [`neon deploy`](https://neon.com/docs/compute/functions/deploy.md) once it works.

## Environment variables

The CLI declares these variables in `neon.ts` and adds them to `.env.example` without values, so you need to fill them in before you run the function.

| Variable | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `WORKOS_API_KEY` | Secret API key (sk\_...) for the WorkOS environment to mirror, from API Keys in the WorkOS Dashboard. |
| `WORKOS_WEBHOOK_SECRET` | Signing secret of the WorkOS webhook endpoint that points at this function's /webhook route. Any placeholder works until the endpoint exists. |
| `WORKOS_SYNC_STATUS_TOKEN` | Bearer token that GET /status requires, since function URLs are public. Any long random string, for example from \`openssl rand -hex 32\`. |
